Be aware this drawing class is based on progressive skill building. Each class builds on the previous one.
Adults (including high school age). All levels are welcome.
Maximum of 12 students ensures everyone will get lots of personal attention.
This 8 week class provides a solid foundation in drawing to students of all skill levels including beginners. With pencil and charcoal, students learn to use line, value, gesture, and perspective, you’ll develop the ability to create accurate and energetic drawings. In this class we’ll work from a variety of subjects including still life, landscape, and occasionally figure.

Newsprint paper large pad
Sketchbook medium size
Charcoal: Compressed and Vine in range of soft to hard.
Graphite pencils in full range of soft to hard. H = HARD B= SOFT
Small chunk of sandpaper
Blending stumps
Kneaded erasers
Staedtler Mars plastic eraser

Class will be held at BAA’s new location in the historic Comanche Center, 217 S. Comanche Ave at Frank Phillips Blvd. (east of Boulevard Pharmacy and across from the radio station and the laundromat.)

Originally from St. Louis, Cris has studied drawing and painting from the age of 12. Her early art education came from private art instructors and workshops at Washington University and the St. Louis Art Museum. She later studied Fine Arts and Art Education at the University of Kansas.
Her appreciation for the uniqueness of people, as well as nature, is conveyed in each portrait or landscape painting. Cris has a constant fascination with solving the problems of light, composition, and color in each painting and drawing endeavor.
